Follow the Silence

When headlines and bombshells no longer tell the truth

Times have certainly changed. As time marches on and I continually lose every battle with it, I am reminded of where I came from...long ago in a corn field far, far away. Fifty-one years ago, today I was brought into a world that seemed so much simpler and quieter. Looking back, innovations in the use of television, movies, and radio changed the landscape of marketing and advertising forever. I recall Star Wars action figures, trading cards, and Happy meal toys that were unprecedented in their ability to grab our attention. The movie E.T. marketed Reese’s Pieces, “Back to the Future” peddled Pepsi, and MTV forged and unholy marriage of music and television. All this, to capture our attention and market their products.

Fast-forward a few decades and there are very few places left without banners or ads. I caught myself in the all-to-familiar position of writing articles, listening to Twitch streams, and responding to comments on Telegram all at the same time; overstimulated much? We are bombarded with advertising, clickbait, and fake news stories. Everywhere we turn there is some form of media hoping to grab our attention and distract us from really living. My unprofessionally diagnosed ADHD has no problem with all the distractions, but it was a comment on Telegram that caught me by surprise:

“Nothing is happening because I am so important that if something WAS happening, I would know about it.” – unknown

                Of course, they were speaking to the arrogance and self-importance draped over the comments of Doomers. It reminds me of that popular valley girl from the 80’s who has to know ALL of the gossip otherwise it’s not important. Since when did we become so important that if we don’t know about it, it must not be happening? I think it started all those years ago when we became consumers of not just Pepsi, Reese’s’ Pieces, and music videos but of headlines and breaking news.

Look back just a few years ago to all the “Breaking” news stories, the “Bombshells,” and “Newly Leaked Information” that filled our news cycle. The American public gobbled it up and we begged for more. If you were a Trump hater you wanted seconds and thirds. It was a smorgasbord of eye-catching leaks and juicy gossip about Trump. What ever happened to Stormy Daniels? Or Michael Avenatti (he is in jail)? What about the Steal Dossier (another lie being exposed)? CNN has lost 90% of its viewership in no small part to Trump leaving office. The “Bombshells” were gone even if they were fake and retracted later.

We were catered to and filled so completely with breaking news that we actually thought we mattered.

                The truth is: most everything in this cognitive information war is happening without our knowledge. Despite how important we may all feel at times, most of what is happening is on a need-to-know basis and right now we don’t need to know. Even the news content that we do get is often misleading or a straight up lie. This presents a problem for those of us who want the truth and want real news. Where do we go to find it? We cannot trust mainstream media and conservative media has their agenda too. I know I have said in the past to focus on what the deep state and Democrats are actually doing rather than what they say. I still stand by that statement. However, sometimes events and news are such that we must follow the silence as well.

                You heard me correctly, follow the silence! In Brian Cates Rise of the New Media substack his latest article “The Most Epic Courtroom Battle No One Knew About” Brian describes John Durham’s huge victory in releasing documents that Hillary Clinton desperately wanted to withhold. So, you didn’t know about this development? That is because YOU ARE NOT SUPOSSED TO. I highly recommend subscribing to Brian Cates substack as he is the Nostradamus of all things Durham.

The Most Epic Courtroom Battle No One Knew About

Good prosecutors do not leak details of an investigation. Grand juries do not leak information and we will never know what is going on with them until they want us to know. In other words when there is silence coming from the Durham’s investigation good things are happening. Contrast this with all the leaks and bombshells from the Mueller investigation. Mueller was a clown with no tricks; a prosecutor with no case…and he knew it. The only thing Mueller had was a media bullhorn. The media grabbed the headlines and did every thing in their power to sell us a product with no real substance. Good thing many of us were not in the buying mood.

                Not convinced yet that the silence is where we should look? Remember when General Michael Flynn was an NSA Director for three weeks? The story was that Flynn was to have allegedly contacted foreign heads state before being sworn in as NSA director. This was a violation of the Logan Act which until then was an act few knew about, and even fewer people were ever accused of violating. The media carpet bombed us for months with headlines and leaked information about this until we were pummeled into believing he was guilty.   

                In November of 2021, Richard Grenell traveled to Kosovo-Serbia as part of Trump’s “Envoy Ambassador.” Here is the Trumps statement:

 “Today, my Envoy Ambassador Ric Grenell visited the Kosovo-Serbia border to highlight this important agreement,” Trump said in the email. “The agreements my administration brokered are historic and should not be abandoned, many lives are at stake.” – Advocate

To their credit, the folks over at the Advocate do mention the clear violation:

Grenell’s visit raises questions about his potential violation of the Logan Act, which makes any attempt by a U.S. citizen to intervene in certain foreign affairs — specifically with countries the U.S. is in dispute with — illegal.

                Where is the outrage? Where is the apocalyptic conniption fit from the media? General Flynn did far less, and it was on every MSM outlet you could think of (and even conservative outlets too). How is this even possible for Rick Grenell to discuss agreements with a foreign head of state? The silence from the media is deafening!

Even more recently on February 14th of this year, Trump and Mike Pence both represented the United States and spoke at global forum in South Korea.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — Former U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized the Biden administration over its handling of North Korea, at an event in South Korea that included as a guest speaker former Vice-President Mike Pence.

                And finally, it would appear Mike Pompeo is headed to Taiwan next week to meet Taiwan’s president Tsai Ing-wen:

TAIPEI, Feb 21 (Reuters) - Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, placed under sanctions by China when he left office at the end of the Trump presidency last year, will visit Taiwan next week and meet President Tsai Ing-wen, Taiwan's government said on Monday. Taiwan's foreign ministry said Pompeo and his wife would visit the Chinese-claimed island from March 2-5, and also meet Foreign Minister Joseph Wu and give a speech at a think-tank.

                Folks, this is not some shady phone call made on a Russian cell phone, or leaked email from a private server. This in-your-face brazen violations of the Logan Act and other laws as well. Former Trump administration officials meeting with heads of state on behalf of the United States and discussing matter of the state. Adam “pencil-neck” Schiff is scouring the National Archives looking for anything to pin on Trump and no one in the media is pointing to this?

                The media and Democrats spent the better part of 4 years feeding the public’s insatiable appetite with lie after lie about Flynn and Trump. The American people got fat on headlines and bombshell reports, and we began to think we had a need-to-know. Not only were we badly misled we came away ill-prepared for the cognitive information war to come. 

                The media and deep state’s silence on these matters cannot be ignored. Their silence is louder to me than any bombshell headline they can fabricate. The silence pierces through the white noise that is today’s headlines and media. They bombarded us years ago to buy their pop and candy and now they bombard us to buy their lies and misdirection. So why is the media and deep state silent about the violations of the former Trump administration? Maybe the better question is one that we must always remember when there is a contradiction: maybe one or more of our premises are wrong. Maybe there is nothing “former” about Trump’s administration.
