I agree with every point you talked, and I hope for the American people (YOU the People) you'll be able to restore your elections, which are "only" corrupt ... Your victory will be the one for all other democracies all around the world (France included) !

Beautiful analogy! I hate how our society is a 'throw away' and most people I know don't like it either.
We purchased a house with 'good bones'. But it was originally a custom-built home. that was neglected for a good number of years when the previous owner got too old to be able to keep it up. But the contractors who have come in to work have all marveled at the solidness of the house itself. Sure it needs a face lift and that is not cheap (the bathroom had 70s shag carpet!). Slowly but surely though, it is coming together. Now we have people stopping by in the front to tell us how nice it is looking. It takes work and sacrifice. But the end result is - and will be - worth the cost. That is something we need to remember.
(And I will also have to remember - and repeat: Our elections are corrupted, not broken!)
Excellent writing! I love all the programs you had talked about. My wife and I still watch This Old House. One of our favorites. I’ve watched the others you mentioned also. My wife now watches chateau refurbishment shows on YouTube. Our beautiful Republic does have excellent bones. The material is of good quality and nature and the blueprint is spot on. I for one, an immigrant to this wonderful country, am standing and fighting for my home. I will not allow those who are bent on our destruction to win at any cost. It is time that We the People start paying attention to our house and not let the useless pilferers of this world, small in number great in perceived effect, ruin This Old House.
Great piece, school house of rock actually taught you something with a catchy tune, Scooby made you think who the villain was going to be, these days the commercials will make ya stupid and it’s sad because I too was looking forward to Saturday’s for the cartoon as a kid, like Mighty Mouse ,heckle and Jeckle and scooby ! It’s terrible
I GET IT!!! I'm an antiques dealer by trade. As such I've restored/repurposed thousands of rejects that most viewed as hopeless. I LOVE what I do, breathing new life into each and every piece is a total and complete labor of love. My deep respect and passion for preserving the past transferred over to salvaging architectural parts from houses slated for demolition. I always grieve the loss of these grand old homes while scrambling to save what I can before the trackhoe shows up to pull them down. Bits of heir unique glory live on in other projects and also in my mind. I'm now working on my 11th home restoration but I'm getting old! I hope to have at least one more home restoration left in me and I especially hope to live long enough to see the restoration of our once Glorious Nation...she does have good bones and she's so worth the hard work!!! I pray for this every day.
I had to chuckle at the dresser story. My husband brought one like yours home from an estate sale and I thought why in the world would he do that because we have too many as is. After all, it was layered with three different colors of enamel paint and it had sat in a barn for who knows how long.
Shortly afterward we found out our firstborn grandson was in the oven and the more I looked at the dresser, I thought why not? Something that they will be able to use for many more years to come as well as more children who will have something that their great grandmother had revived with each stroke of the sandpaper, with love. The bones were indeed good but the oak grain was spectacular. I’ve always loved the natural wood grain and I couldn’t imagine why someone thought by covering it with paint was a good idea.
Our country is like that dresser. With determination, love and care we to can restore this great country. Our constitution and the Supreme Court will assist us in doing so as long as we can continue to fight. I want my grandchildren and their children to have a life of dignity and freedom as I did growing up in the greatest country with the majority of people who are just like myself. Good, hardworking people. I feel a shift is coming. It’s almost palpable. We must never forget our greatest ally is God all Mighty. He’s witnessed our weeping and suffering. He knows we’re tired, and He is the ultimate warrior who we need in this battle we face. Together we can overcome. I feel it. Do you?
