Well said. In NY we have Poll Books which are ipads all networked to one another via a "secured" wireless system to communicate with one another. In theory, they are networked to not only eliminate duplicate votes but to print out on demand a particular ballot for the district that voter lives in. In early voting, anyone in the county can go to a limited amount of polling places to vote. On Election Day, you go to the polling place that houses your district. This unfortunately confuses people and they get frustrated when a simple note on the voter reminder card could explain the difference. Also, that brightly colored reminder card can be used to scan someone in like a government issued ID like a driver's license. That use of a card does allow for security issues. However, as a poll worker for over 15 years, I have seen an increase in people voluntarily giving us their licenses and commenting that One Should be required to show ID. So the Court of public opinion is heading in the right direction and I handle 3 purple districts. In NY we can't ask for ID but we do explain that it does speed up the line which a lot of people like regardless of political affiliation.

The ladies who check my sign in have been doing this for years and don't need to see my ID because they know me and it's a strongly Republican county.
